Aims and intentions

A programme designed to help professionals and carers, in mainstream or specialist settings, to develop their knowledge of autism spectrum disorders, the needs arising from these and different approaches to meeting them.

 

Approaches to Teaching and Learning

The Programme seeks to engage a mixed group including parents, carers, teachers, nurses, speech therapists and other staff working in this field. Learning will include critical reflection, research and evaluation of current research, with collaborative group work.

 

Assessment

Assessment will be through presentations and written assignments. A work-based assignment, of the student’s choice, is undertaken each semester. A supervised dissertation is undertaken in  Year 3.
