Aims and intentions

This programme is designed for experienced teachers who wish to obtain a specialist qualification in Specific Learning Difficulties (Dyslexia) 

 

Approaches to Teaching and Learning:

There are three modules:

1) a whole school approach to SpLD (Dyslexia);

2) the theory and practice of identification and assessment;

3) teaching pupils with SpLD (Dyslexia).

 

Teaching is delivered in twilight sessions and on five full days over three terms. There will be a number of key lectures, demonstrations, workshops, tutorials and group discussions.

 

Personal research and school-based activities also play an important part in the programme.

 

Assessment

Assessed work takes the form of written assignments, one for each module.

Key benefits:

This course is accredited by the British Dyslexia Association (AMBDA) and will develop teachers’ skills based on expert and current practice.
