Aims and intentions
This programme focuses on practices in SEN/Inclusion with particular reference to national policies and their impact on learning. However the intention is to create the conditions in which you are able to reflect on issues that are relevant to your own professional work. The programme enables individuals to consider the implications of their learning, reading and enquiry for policy and practice in their own professional context.
Approaches to Teaching and Learning
There are two core modules - 'Inclusive Practice/SEN' and 'Foundations and philosophies of Enquiry'. Students then select one optional module from:
'Underestanding Autism'
'Special Educational Needs in the Early Years'
'Learning Dificulties and disabilities'
'Teaching Learners with SpLD (Dyslexia)'.
Assessment
The assessment will take a variety of practical forms depending on modules selected, but including presentation if critical reflection and analysis of issues.
