Aims and intentions:

Generic knowledge and skills about investigating teaching and learning will be developed through individual inquiries that can link directly to personal or school development plans.

 

Assessment:

Assessed work is integral to activities and relates to professional practice: there are  no examinations. 

Prior learning can be accredited enabling some participants to ‘fast-track’ certain elements of  the Master’s programme.

 

Key benefits:

This programme will enable participants to enhance and develop their own classroom practice through engaging with current educational theories in relation to their individual working context.

 

 

(Design & Technology)

 

Areas of Study:

Independent study

  • Advanced Study Subject Related Disciplines
  • Curricular Management
  • Research Methods
  • Research Project (Dissertation)

Aims and intentions:

The programme is designed to meet the requirements of teachers seeking the new standards of excellent and advanced teacher status. Participants will be able to develop excellence in both pedagogy and subject specific skills within the area of Design & Technology. Teachers will be encouraged to reflect creatively in relating all areas of Design & Technology to the National Curriculum.

 

Assessment:

Assessment will primarily be by a portfolio of evidence that reflects the development of professional practice within the field of Design and Technology. Emphasis will be placed on the ability to link theory into practice.

 

Key benefits:

Participants will be able to develop their own subject knowledge within the field of Design & Technology in relation to the National Curriculum whilst also working towards the higher level teaching standards.

 

(Business Education)
